This is a twelve (12) month fixed term, part-time ( position commencing Term 1, 2024

West Leederville Primary School (PS) is seeking a dedicated, highly competent and enthusiastic Japanese teacher to join our team. We are looking for a contemporary Languages teacher who is passionate about languages and engages students in learning about Japanese language and culture.

They should have an excellent understanding of the Japanese: Second Language WA Curriculum, providing students with essential communication skills in Japanese, an intercultural capability, and an understanding of the role of language and culture in communication. A strong understanding of evidence-based teaching practices, such as explicit teaching pedagogies, differentiated instruction, high impact teaching strategies, and the science of learning should underpin their specialist learning area expertise.

We are looking for dedicated educators who are child focused and have high expectations of student achievement and teacher efficacy. The ability to collaborate will be highly regarded, as will the capacity to form professional and positive working relationships with students, staff, parents and the wider community.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
