Yarralinka Primary School (PS) is seeking a motivated and innovative teacher to work across the school delivering the Physical Education curriculum for all classes.

Teaching in a recently established and growing public primary school presents unique challenges that require a particular skill set and outlook. Of utmost importance are the personal qualities you bring to the role. You should value developing positive relationships with students, families, colleagues, and the wider community. You will ideally have excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on teamwork, collaboration, and a sense of humour. You should have a ‘can do’ attitude and the ability to anticipate and adapt to change; showing initiative, flexibility and creative problem solving to produce the best opportunities for students.

We are looking for a dynamic, highly skilled educator who is committed to maximising their impact on student learning and actively engages in self-reflection and continuous self-improvement. You should have high expectations and truly believe that all children can learn at high levels and seek to foster a learning environment that allows students to achieve their true potential. You should be committed to the provision of high-quality teaching and learning programs, that are aligned to whole school approaches.

The successful applicant will support the development and implementation of the vision, values, culture, and strategic direction of our school, as outlined on our website. This specialist role requires a high level of organisation skills in scheduling, planning, coordinating, and coaching for whole school sporting events, morning fitness programs, interschool sports, and other school programs, excursions, and activities.

Exhibiting a willingness to write and submit grant applications to support Physical Education learning outcomes is highly desirable. The successful applicant should display a strong knowledge of the WA Curriculum. As the student population grows over time, there is the possibility to offer the successful applicant additional workdays in the future.
