Arbeitsbeschreibung - Business Development Manager

DHL is constantly growing and therefore looking for positive-thinking people. We are expanding our team at our location on Campus 21 on the outskirts of Vienna.

As DHL eCommerce, we develop shipping and returns solutions for international online retail customers. We rely on proven standard products for international parcel shipping and at the same time have the flexibility and knowledge to develop tailor-made solutions for our large eCommerce clients.


We want to continue to grow and expand our field of activity towards Eastern Europe. We are looking for reinforcements in the area of business development.


As a direct report to our Managing Director and as a member of the management team, you will define business development plans, monitor revenue generation and provide approaches to market and customer growth and retention rates.


This is what your new area of responsibility could look like in detail:


  • Analysis of the market conditions for our products in AT and CEE, identification of possible new customers, recognition of areas of action and potential
  • Identifying, further developing and opening up new business areas and sales markets, primarily in the CEE region, developing a go-to-market approach
  • Preparation of forecasts for future trends and market developments
  • Development of business strategies, needs and market analyses
  • Development of individual solutions for major customers in close cooperation with Sales and Operations
  • Analysis of product developments
  • Initiation and further development of marketing and customer loyalty measures
  • Reporting and monitoring of key figures
  • Management of projects
  • Close collaboration with Management and Sales, sparring partner and advisor to the Managing Director

You bring these professional requirements with you:


  • Completed economics or subject-specific studies
  • Several years of professional experience in a similar position or in project management with a sales background
  • Fluent English and German skills, an Eastern language represents an additional benefit
  • Interest in or ideally already knowledge of the eCommerce B2C market

Have you worked for large eCommerce retailers, shippers or marketplaces in the past? Or have you gained experience with IT or CEP service providers? Do you have professional experience in the area of consulting?

For this diverse range of tasks, we offer a minimum salary of €3,130.60 gross/month in accordance with the collective agreement for freight forwarding and logistics employees, plus a performance-based variable share. Depending on your qualifications and experience, we are of course willing to talk.
