Agri Commodities Procurement & Sourcing Specialist

TORQ COMMODITIES is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Agri Commodities Procurement & Sourcing Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing the procurement of various agricultural commodities to ensure the best quality and price for our trading operations. Your expertise in market analysis and supplier relationships will be integral to enhancing our business performance and meeting our clients' diverse needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and qualify suppliers for a range of agricultural commodities, including grains, oils, seeds, nuts, and fruits.
• Conduct market research to monitor trends, pricing, and availability of commodities.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and delivery terms with suppliers while ensuring compliance with company policies.
• Collaborate with the trading team to develop procurement strategies that align with market conditions and trading objectives.
• Manage supplier relationships to enhance collaboration, quality control, and service delivery.
• Oversee the procurement process, ensuring timely and efficient purchases that meet operational requirements.
• Analyze procurement data to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve sourcing strategies.
• Work closely with logistics and finance teams to ensure smooth operations from procurement to delivery.
• Stay updated on industry regulations, commodity policies, and international trade practices.

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Agriculture, Business, or a related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
• 3–5 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management within the agricultural commodities sector.
• Strong understanding of commodity markets, pricing mechanisms, and procurement processes.
• Excellent negotiation skills with a proven ability to secure favorable terms and pricing.
• Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis and market forecasting.
• Solid organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and experience with procurement software/systems.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach to teamwork.
• Fluency in English and German is required; additional language skills (e.g., Spanish, French) are a plus.
