Assistant Engagement, Networks & Distribution
Organization Summary:
PAX sapiens is on a mission to prevent predictable global catastrophes. We use direct grantmaking and coordination tools such as convenings, conferences, and information sharing systems to advance human security and sustainable peace. In support of our mission, our focus areas include strengthening global systems for pandemic prevention, preventing nuclear war, and promoting better US-Chinese relationships in global fora specifically. We focus on hiring talented and impact-driven professionals who are passionate about driving positive change.
Open Nuclear Network (ONN), PAX sapiens Austria programme, is an international non-profit organisation working to reduce the risk of nuclear conflict through open-source analysis, forecasting, and expert engagement. ONN’s flagship initiative, Project Loop, is a monthly monitoring and forecasting cycle that integrates open-source monitoring, structured foresight, and expert judgment to identify and assess pathways of nuclear escalation across key global regions.
Primary Role:
ONN is seeking an entry-level Engagement, Network and Distribution Assistant to join the Office for Engagement, Network and Distribution (OEND) and support ONN’s engagement, communications and outreach activities.
The successful candidate will support the promotion of ONN materials and organisational products through website updates, social media, and broader online presence strategies; assist with the planning and delivery of meetings and events (including agendas, scheduling, invitations, and follow-up communications); and contribute to engagement with external partners, stakeholders and networks. The role also includes supporting the production of summaries, reports, and presentations on research findings; promoting ONN activities at relevant events and conferences; assisting with expert roster and project-related communications; and liaising with PAX sapiens’ headquarters on communications, distribution and operational updates.
This role is well-suited for recent graduates and early-career professionals with strong organisational and communication skills, an interest in nuclear risk and international security, and a desire to support engagement, network-building and research-informed outreach in a mission-driven organisation.
