About the role

The Bus Driver provides transportation to the residents for appointments and errands, such as medical appointments, banking, shopping, worship services, entertainment, and other miscellaneous activities

Work Schedule/ Shift

Mondays, Tuesdays, & Thursdays / 8am-4pm

Compensation

$17-$19/hr

What you'll do

• Transport residents to, and pick-up from, doctor’s offices, banks, restaurants, markets, food banks, etc.
• Assist passengers, including residents who utilize a motorized scooter, in and out of the van.
• Maintain vehicle, purchase fuel and supplies, prepare reports and other records that are requested by management.
• Interact with residents in a friendly manner, providing meaningful attention and communicating concerns of resident's health to management as appropriate.
• Ensure all vehicle license plates, inspection tags, and insurance cards are current and displayed properly.
• Maintain the cleanliness and maintenance of all vehicles.
• Work in a safe manner and ensure that unsafe actions are brought to the attention of the Director.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements & Qualifications 

• Ability to operate a bus safely.
• Extensive knowledge of motor vehicle laws.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Extensive knowledge of vehicle maintenance and the ability to diagnose mechanical problems.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Must have a valid commercial driver’s license.
• Must have a clean driving record and minimum of 1 year driving experience.
• Basic knowledge of operating a lift gate and securing wheelchairs.
