Data Engineer (6 Months contract-onsite )

Job Title: Data Engineer

Location: Vienna, Austria (onsite)

Position Type: 6 Months of contract

Expected start date: 1st of October

Visa requirement: There is no sponsorship Must be already resident in Austria. An existing work permit is required, Austrian/EU Citizen or RWR+

Are you passionate about leveraging Data engineering to create impactful solutions for a reputable NGO? Then we are looking for you!

Expert knowledge of (>3 years)

1. Defining enterprise data products together with business analysts and subject matter experts

2. Development of data pipelines using tools like dbt, Trino, Spark

3. Extraction from source systems like MS SQL Server, Elastic, SharePoint

4. Orchestration using Airflow or similar workflow tool

5. On-premise Data Lake(house) architecture and components in general

6. Data Engineering principles and techniques

Experience with (> 1 year):

1. Setup logging and auditing through Grafana Loki or similar tool

2. Working in cross functional agile teams

Asset experience:

1. Data catalogs (OpenMetadata) and data lineage tools (OpenLineage)

2. Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning frameworks

3. Data Lake infrastructure and platforms (Linux, S3, Kubernetes)
