Job Title: Heavy Equipment Technician-2nd shift

Location: 2251 Silver Creek Rd, Fort Worth, TX 76108

FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt

Position Type: Full-Time

Typical Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 2:00 PM - 11:00pm, and Saturday7:00 AM - 1:00 PM, as needed.

Pay Range: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour DOE

About the role

A Heavy Equipment Technician for a mining company is responsible for maintaining,

repairing, and troubleshooting a variety of large machinery used in mining operations. This

includes equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, haul trucks, and loaders. Given the fast-paced

environment of mining sites, the role requires a deep understanding of mechanical systems,

electrical systems, and hydraulic systems. This position offers a challenging yet rewarding

What you'll do

• Maintenance and Repair:
• • Perform regular maintenance and repairs on mining equipment, ensuring they
  • operate safely and efficiently.
  • o Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
  • o Troubleshoot and repair engines, transmissions, axles, and related mechanical
  • systems.
• Inspection and Diagnostics:
• • Conduct inspections to assess the condition of machinery and identify potential problems before they cause breakdowns.
  • Use diagnostic tools and equipment to test systems and identify issues with engine performance, electrical systems, and hydraulics.
• Documentation:
• • Keep detailed records of maintenance and repairs, including parts used and time spent on each job.
  • Follow safety regulations and company policies while working on machinery.
• Collaboration:
• • Work closely with other team members, such as operators and supervisors, to ensure that equipment is serviced efficiently and that operational downtime is minimized.
  • Train or mentor junior mechanics on proper techniques and safety practices.
• Safety Compliance:
• • Ensure all repair work complies with the company's safety protocols and regulatory standards.
  • Adhere to safe work practices when working with heavy machinery, chemicals, and fuel.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in heavy equipment mechanics or a related field is recommended.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience working with heavy machinery, ideally in a mining, construction, or industrial setting is preferred.
