Lead Physical Performance Coach

The Red Bull Athlete Performance Center is an athlete accelerator to enable Red Bull athletes to become truly outstanding performers. We use advanced technology, analytics and insights from hundreds of different sports to recognize an athlete’s individual potential.

The main purpose of this job position is to manage and guide Red Bull APC Physical Performance Coaches in athletic, rehabilitation and performance related topics, ensuring delivery of World Class Physical Performance interventions, optimised and individualised to provide maximum impact on Red Bull athletes and teams.

Working closely with the Global Performance Director and the Lead Physical Performance Scientist, the Lead Physical Performance Coach will promote an interdisciplinary approach (Mental Performance, Performance Innovation, Performance Projects, Nutrition, Physiotherapy, Medical Doctors as well as colleagues from across the business operations team) to achieve a positive performance impact for Red Bull athletes at the APC.

Team-Lead

Leading and managing  the Physical Performance Coaches, with a focus on methodological, developmental, organizational, and strategic direction to achieve high-quality results.

Ensuring team members are continuously developed and educated to maintain the skills and knowledge necessary for the department’s success.

Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to report progress and address challenges.

Implement best practices and continuous improvement strategies to optimize team performance.

Assessment, training and programming

Assisting with the assessment and testing of athletes in relation to their physical skills relevant to their sport and goals and providing training and intervention recommendations based on the results.

Programming of physical performance training, including rehabilitation and return to sport.

Integrating innovative, modern training concepts to achieve physical performance goals.

Providing ongoing support to select athletes remotely via applicable tools and creating educational content to be shared with the Red Bull athlete community.

Demonstrating high-performance experiences for Red Bull athletes.

Collaboration

Collaborating with other APC departments, being part of athlete focussed interdisciplinary approaches and integrating activities within the wider APC performance system (projects, teams etc).

Managing key relationships with external equipment, technology and sport science support partners in the area of physical performance.

Demonstrating the ability to think strategically and execute key strategic targets.

8+ years of proven success delivering in performance environments across sport organizations and constituencies.

Deep understanding of elite athlete performance testing and programming in multiple domains of sport.

Masters in Strength and Conditioning, Sport Science or equivalent.

High level performance support in international and domestic sport programs.

Proven experience in building programs and performance project to drive change at a system level.

Creative, strategic thinker capable of bridging vision with practical execution in targeted sport environments.

Widely connected in the physical performance field, both with coaches, experts and potential partners.

Excellent communication skills.

Fluent in written and spoken English (additional language skills desirable)
