About the Role

We are seeking an experienced MES Engineer with PAS-X expertise to join our growing team in Vienna. In this role, you will drive the design, implementation, and optimization of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) within a chemical manufacturing environment. You will play a key role in aligning industrial automation initiatives with business strategy, while coordinating cross-functional teams and managing complex projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain MES solutions with a focus on Werum PAS-X
  


• Collaborate with production, quality, IT, and engineering teams to ensure seamless system integration
  


• Lead and coordinate MES-related projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business objectives
  


• Translate business requirements into technical MES solutions
  


• Support digital transformation and automation strategies across manufacturing operations
  


• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and quality standards (e.g., GMP where applicable)
  


• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and stakeholders
  


• Troubleshoot, optimize, and continuously improve MES performance and reliability
  

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Engineering, Automation, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred)
  


• Minimum 5+ years of experience in MES, industrial automation, or related roles
  


• Proven hands-on experience with PAS-X (Werum)
  


• Strong background in industrial automation systems and manufacturing processes
  


• Experience in chemical or process manufacturing environments
  


• Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and manage projects
  


• Solid understanding of business strategy in industrial/automation contexts
  


• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  

Languages

• Fluent German and English (both required)
