Arbeitsbeschreibung - Junior Scientist Millimeter-wave Design and Verification (f/m/d)

As a Researcher in Millimetre Wave Technologies, you will be part of a highly innovative team working on the development and implementation of advanced RF and microwave systems. You will work on exciting projects and make a significant contribution to the development of new technologies.
  • Responsible for research and development in millimetre-wave technologies, shaping the future of high-frequency communications.
  • Implement both hardware and software solutions to realise complex RF and microwave systems.
  • Perform accurate simulations of RF and microwave systems to optimise the efficiency and performance of the solutions developed.
  • Develop and design advanced RF systems and contribute to the planning and implementation of innovative systems in the field of microwave and radio frequency technologies.
  • Carry out laboratory tests and measurements at microwave frequencies to ensure system quality and functionality.
  • Develop comprehensive RF and microwave systems, including circuit design and antenna development, working closely with interdisciplinary teams.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Informatics or similar fields
  • At least 3 years of experience in electronics development (chip or PCB level) in the microwave frequency range
  • worked with state-of-the-art commercial (Cadence, Synopsys, Altium, etc.) and/or open-source design tools (xschem, klayout, openlane, kicad, etc.)
  • Hands-on skills including high-frequency measurements on PCB and/or on-wafer
  • Interested in broadening your scope from technical work to research projects
  • Excellent English skills; German is an advantage
  • Diverse research activities with many technical challenges.

This position is subject to the Collective Agreement for employees in non-university research (Research CA) starting in occupational group E. We offer competitive salaries and additional benefits based on your experience and qualifications. For this position, your minimum monthly salary starts with EUR 3.963,00, paid 14 times a year.
