Senior Backend Developer / B2B SaaS, Data Platform, Dev & ML Ops

We are looking for a Senior Backend Developer (f/m/x) driven by the quality and pragmatism of their work. Eager to work in a fast-paced technology scale-up, share their knowledge and experience with our team, and continue their own development sparring with colleagues. 

Key goals

• Develop web services in Python (Flask, SQLAlchemy), PostgreSQL, Docker & Kubernetes & Helm.
• Deliver well-tested production components using a pragmatic choice of best practices.
• Drive and own feature implementation for in-time delivery.
• Support research engineers with data infrastructure and data pipelines for our latest ML tech.
• Collaborate with colleagues from frontend, backend, optimization, and ML.

• At least 6 years’ professional experience delivering scalable and maintainable backend applications.
• Experience with event-based architectures & message brokers (e.g. Kafka, NATS, RabbitMQ).
• Solid understanding of software design, incl. data-manipulation and distributed systems.
• Experience with Python, or similar dynamically typed stacks and strong motivation to learn Python.
• Excellent communication in English and the ability to work in an agile, cross-functional environment.

Nice-to-haves

• Having contributed to and accompanied to production multiple systems in different contexts.
• (Big) Data (Platform) engineering experience.
• DevOps/ML-Ops experience (e.g. MLFlow).
• Have collaborated or supporting data / optimization / machine learning engineers.
• Orchestration and ETLs tech (e.g. Spark, Delta Lake, Airflow, Argo Workflows, Celery, Luigi, Dask).

Salary
We offer market conform salaries with appropriate payment based on individual skills and experience. For this position, for candidates fulfilling the above-mentioned must-haves & majority nice-to-haves, we envision a yearly (fulltime) salary starting 75.000 EUR.
