As our Senior Strategic External Partnership Manager , you will be responsible for strategic tasks in the early Evaluations and University collaboration group of the External Partnership Team at SDC in Kundl but also supporting API sourcing activities across SDCs (Sandoz Development Centres) and countries.
You will support development projects with API (Drug substance) and standards/impurities including screening for suppliers, final supplier strategy, offers, benchmark analysis, collection of associated documentation, and management of requests from technical experts. You will actively drive alignment between internal and external teams for API sourcing related topics.
Finally, you will deputize the head of the department at SDC Kundl in important project meetings and strategic initiatives besides of general deputy during vacation to ensure proper representation of external partnership on site and in relevant meetings. As a holder of this role, you will make a real difference for the success of development projects!
Your key responsibilities:
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Self-reliant strategic and operative sourcing activities regarding strategic supplier selection, timely availability of APIs, analytical standards, impurities, comparators and services for development projects in accordance with technical, quality, IP and regulatory requirements as well as internal and external guidelines
Facilitate external communication with API industry partners and own project team tasks for APIs incl. logistics & custom documentation, offers, vendor and product management including organization of related documents, reporting and administrative support for the team of early evaluations and university collaboration
Deputize the head of the department in project meetings, strategic initiatives as needed and also during absence and defend the selected sourcing strategy against important internal stakeholders such as Project Management, Pharmaceutical Development, Launch Management and Portfolio
Manage relevant ordering documentation in line with compliance requirements and facilitate project managers and development scientists with relevant information
Interface for procurement and TPRM, related documentation as per SDC/procurement processes
accountable to organize and communicate vendor and product related documents as requested by responsible departments (e.g. import/export licenses, invoices, shipment documentation)
Self-reliant and proactive maintenance of electronic documentation archive including regular market and benchmark analysis including overall status of potential new suppliers, status of key regulatory documentation (i.e. DMF), price update, IP strategy and availability of samples
Active driving of various planning, forecasting and reporting processes including KPI analysis
Be an active team member of early evaluation and University collaboration team and provide input to discussions and projects across sites / SDCs and countries
What you’ll bring to the role:
Essential Requirements:
Sound technical & scientific knowledge of pharmaceutical/chemical analytics (min. 4 years of relevant experience in similar role or profound pharmaceutical/chemical background)
University degree in natural sciences or economics with additional Pharma-relevant education
Scientific thinking related to chemical API manufacturing and development of generic pharmaceuticals, including deep understanding of regulatory requirements
Strong and self-reliant capability in negotiation and internal / external stakeholder management
Able to prioritize and show flexibility, significant experience on working across different sites, countries and cultures and ability to present and defend supplier strategy towards relevant internal and external stakeholders
Customer and result-oriented working style
Profound knowledge of MS Office, SAP/SRM knowledge is an advantage
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Fluent in English, German is an advantage

In accordance with Austrian law, we are obliged to disclose the minimum salary as stated in the collective bargaining agreement. For this position the minimum salary is € 73.112,90/year (on a full time basis). The actual salary will be significantly higher, as we strive to maintain a competitive position in the market and consider your previous experience, qualifications and individual competencies.
