About the role

Position Summary: The Shipping Associate plays an important role in our warehouse operations. They are responsible for accurately and efficiently preparing construction materials for shipment to customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to safety. They will work closely with the shipping team to ensure orders are processed in a timely manner and meet quality standards

Key Responsibility Areas: 

• Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment according to customer requirements and shipping instructions.
• Utilize hand tools, pallet jacks, and forklifts to move and stack materials safely and efficiently.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including keeping shipping areas and equipment clean and in good condition.
• Collaborate with the shipping team to prioritize orders, resolve shipping issues, and meet daily shipping goals.
• Collaborate with the Inventory Specialist for regular cycle counts and reconciling inventory discrepancies.
• Provide excellent customer service, including answering customer inquiries and assisting with order tracking and delivery updates.

Qualifications: 

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in logistics or warehouse operations is a plus.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with shipping software/systems is desirable.
• Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification
• Proven experience in shipping, logistics, or warehouse operations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Working Environment: 

• Hourly range of $18.00
• Daily shifts are from 7 am-3:30 pm, overtime eligible, and occasional weekends
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, climb ladders, and operate material handling equipment safely.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Comfortable with being in an active fabrication environment, specifically loud noises from machinery.
