Soya is a vibrant new local brand debuting in Bahrain with plans toexpand throughout the Middle East. The restaurant spans threefloors with outdoor seating accommodating up to 80 guests. Soyaoffers a dynamic blend of Japanese and Mexican cuisines deliveringan innovative fusion experience with a menu that includes Robatagrills sushi tempura and Mexicaninspired tapas. The restaurant aimsto provide a unique dining experience on each floor featuring livemusic and a fun modernatmosphere.
Responsibilities:
- MenuDevelopment:Create and regularly update the menu by drawing inspiration fromnotable establishments like Clay Zuma Canary Club Dubai Soul StreetDubai and Los Mochis London as well as personal culinaryinnovation.
- CulinaryExcellence:Ensure the highest quality of food preparation and presentation.Oversee the kitchens culinary operations including the creation ofunique sauces and dishes that blend Japanese and Mexicanelements.
- OperationalManagement:Manage all kitchen operations including staff training in both hotand cold kitchen processes recipe standardization inventory controland cost management. Maintain food costs within the 2025% targetrange.
- Leadershipand TeamManagement:Lead by example as a team player and a handson leader. Recruittrain and motivate a culturally diverse kitchen team of 810 membersensuring high performance and adherence to health and safetyregulations.
- FinancialOversight:Efficiently manage food and labor costs contributing to theprofitability of therestaurant.
Requirements
- Culinarydegree from a recognized culinary school orinstitute.
- 46years of experience as a Head Chef in an upscale restaurantInternational experience with proven expertise in Japanese andMexican cuisines including specific skills in Robata andsushi.
- Demonstratedability in menu development and execution with a creative culinaryapproach.
- Strongoperational management skills with experience in training staffinventory management and costcontrol.
- Excellentcommunication and leadership skills capable of fostering acooperative teamenvironment.
- Flexibilityto relocate to Bahrain and willingness to travel asneeded.
