JobSummary
Responsible forsoliciting and managing of reservations sales-relatedopportunities. Manages and provides training and work assignmentsto Reservations Sales staff. Actively up-sells each businessopportunity to maximize revenue opportunity. Achieves personal andteam related revenue goals. Responsible for driving customerloyalty by delivering service excellence throughout each customerexperience. Provides service to our customers in order to growshare of the account on behalf of thecompany.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education AndExperience
- High school diploma or GED; no workexperience required.
OR
- 2-year degree from an accrediteduniversity in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel andRestaurant Management, or related major; 2 years experience in thesales and marketing, guest services, front desk, or relatedprofessional area.
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
UnderstandingMarkets & Maximizing Revenue
- Identifies new reservations salesbusiness to achieve personal and property revenuegoals.
- Understands the overall market,including competitors' strengths and weaknesses, economictrends, supply and demand etc. and knows how to sell againstthem.
- Closes the best opportunities for theproperty based on market conditions and propertyneeds.
- Monitors same day selling procedures tomaximize room revenue and control propertyoccupancy.
- Gains understanding of theproperty's primary target customer and serviceexpectations; serves the customer by understanding their business,business issues and concerns, to offer better businesssolution.
Conducting DailyReservations Sales Activities
- Responds to incoming reservationssales opportunities for the property that are outside parameters ofthe Event Booking Center.
- Uses negotiatingskills and creative selling abilities to close on business andnegotiate contracts.
- Uses sales resources andadministrative/support staffeffectively.
- Assists in monitoring groupreservation forecast data.
- Coordinates withsales and Convention Services to process rooming lists andreservation cards
- Executes and supports theoperational aspects of business booked (e.g., generating proposal,writing contract, customercorrespondence).
- Assists with monitoringaccuracy of reservation sales orders within trackingsystems.
- Tracks no-show reservations andprocesses charges as needed.
- Checks dailyarrivals to ensure all necessary billing instructions are appliedto reservations.
- Manages wait list andprioritizes order of wait list contacts to bemade.
- Prepares work and maintenanceorders.
