Requirements

• 8–12+ years of experience in utility billing / meter-to-bill domains
  


• 3+ years of hands-on MECOMS implementation or enhancement experience
  


• Experienced MECOMS Meter-to-Billing Functional Consultant to support end-to-end energy billing and market operations on the MECOMS platform built on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (F&O).
  


• Ensuring accurate consumption processing, billing, invoicing, and regulatory compliance across electricity and gas utilities, while collaborating with business stakeholders, technical teams, and integration partners.
  


• Experience in large-scale utility transformation programs
  


• Strong expertise in energy retail or supplier environments
  


• Deep understanding of meter-to-billing processes, including: Metering concepts, Consumption-based billing, Tariffs, pricing structures, and billing logic, Billing corrections, adjustments, and rebilling
  


• Design and manage end-to-end MECOMS processes, including meter configuration, reading ingestion, consumption calculation, tariff application, and invoice generation
  


• Support electricity and gas billing (single and multi-commodity)
  


• Conduct requirement workshops and business process walkthroughs
  


• Perform Fit-to-Standard / Fit-Gap analysis
  


• Configure MECOMS for: Tariffs and pricing components, Time-of-Use (TOU) and profile-based billing, Fixed, variable, and demand-based charges, Billing cycles, proration, and back billing
  


• Prepare functional design specifications for enhancements
  


• Define and validate processes for meter data ingestion from MDM systems
  


• Handle estimated, substituted, and missing readings
  


• Support high-volume consumption processing and reconciliation
  


• Configure and validate billing runs (regular and ad hoc)
  


• Support invoice generation and customer communication setup
  


• Manage billing corrections, cancellations, and rebilling processes
  


• Analyze and resolve billing exceptions ensuring audit readiness
  


• Collaborate with integration teams for MECOMS interfaces with MDM, CRM, market systems, and D365 Finance modules
  


• Support data migration (customers, contracts, meter data, historical billing)
  


• Validate migrated data and support cutover activities
  


• Support MECOMS environments across development, testing, and production
  


• Assist in release management, deployments, and upgrades
  


• Contribute to system performance tuning and monitoring
  


• Experience in European energy markets
  


• Exposure to settlement and market operator processes
  


• Experience with smart metering / AMI
  


• Understanding of finance integration and revenue accounting impacts
  


• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  


• Ability to lead workshops and translate business needs into functional solutions
  


• Analytical mindset with attention to detail and accuracy
  


• Experience working in complex, high-volume utility environments
