Holiday Inn Express & Suites Ghent is looking for a dynamic Front of house manager.

As Front of House Manager you will be responsible for a smooth operation of both Reception and Housekeeping and work closely with the General Manager to deliver an amazing guest and employee journey supported by brand standards and measured through key performance indicators.

Hence you are not afraid to roll up your sleeves and support your colleagues to enhance a memorable experience throughout the hotel.The ideal candidate has a proven track record as an inspiring leader who enjoys coaching and empowering team members and who takes pride in meeting and exceeding expectations as one team.

Your most important tasks will be:

  • Creating a joyful work environment for team members with your great sense of humor and motivational encouraging way of managing FO and HK.
  • Meeting and events: Handling reservation requests, commercial follow-up of contracts, first point of contact for guests, discussion with operational departments, financial and commercial follow-up and after sales, reporting, Yield management and billing.
  • Educating and motivating the team in achieving great guest experiences by ensuring service is delivered in a consistent way.
  • Pro-actively seeking for solutions and opportunities to ensure our guest experience feels natural and seamless.
  • You are confident in your communication and ensure that information reaches the different teams on time and with the right tone of voice.
  • Accurate handling of privacy sensitive information and the handling of financial transactions is familiar to you. You follow strictly the procedures.
  • Fulfils the responsibilities of the Duty Manager based on the monthly schedule;

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • “Lead by example”: ensures courteous and proactive hospitality towards all guests and all employees. Shows a positive attitude at all times and is a team player. Ensures a pleasant positive working atmosphere and high service standards.
  • Leadership experience in Front Office and preferably in Housekeeping within the hotel industry is essential.
  • It would be preferable if you have worked for IHG before.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Hotel Management or Facility Management is required.
  • You are familiar with monitoring budgets and monitoring the objectives of the finance department.
  • Driven, result-oriented and hands-on with great attention to detail.
  • Excellent knowledge of Dutch and English, good knowledge of French. Both orally and in writing.
  • You are friendly and customer-oriented and you have a neat appearance.
  • Knowledge of the Opera PMS / AMADEUS is an asset.
