Job Description - Account Manager Smartstop Solar Solutions

As an Account Manager Smartstop Solar Solutions, you’ll play a key role in expanding Smappee’s presence in the solar energy ecosystem. You will proactively engage with owners of solar parks, helping them find smart and profitable ways to manage their surplus energy.  

You’ll build strong relationships with inverter manufacturers and suppliers, and businesses with high-voltage installations across Europe, who are key players in converting and optimizing solar energy, making sure they see Smappee as the go-to partner for intelligent energy management. 

You’ll also connect with companies operating high-voltage installations, who are seeking reliable, future-proof solutions to manage their complex energy needs. Your mission is to become a trusted advisor to these industry leaders, helping them turn their challenges into opportunities and guiding them toward a more sustainable, efficient future with Smappee by their side.

Responsibilities 

  • You actively prospect and build relationships with solar park owners, inverter suppliers, and businesses in related industries, always looking for ways to open doors and spark new conversations. 
  • You nurture and expand your network across Europe, always staying alert to emerging opportunities and industry developments. 
  • You take full ownership of the sales cycle – from prospecting to pitching to closing – and consistently work toward hitting and exceeding sales targets. 
  • You help clients turn surplus solar energy into business opportunities by integrating Smappee’s Smartstops, into their existing infrastructure. 
  • You lead strategic meetings with key stakeholders, understand their challenges, and tailor solutions that truly make a difference. 
  • You transform these opportunities into signed deals, using your commercial skills to tailor proposals that align with the customer’s needs and Smappee’s value proposition. 
  • You lead negotiations with confidence and close deals that contribute to both your success and Smappee’s growth. 
  • You collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure every client experiences a smooth process from first meeting to successful implementation. 
  • You stay curious and informed, keeping pace with the latest trends and innovations in the energy and technology landscape.  
  • You have 5 years of experience in sales or account management, ideally within the energy, solar, or related industries. 
  • You’ve built a strong network in the solar energy world, solar park owners, inverter suppliers, and other key players. 
  • You have a strong technical understanding of electricity and solar, enabling you to confidently advise clients and identify smart solutions for their energy management needs. 
  • You’re passionate about energy and sustainability, and you’re driven to make a real contribution to the energy transition. 
  • You are fluent in English and French; Dutch is a bonus. 
  • You bring energy, enthusiasm, and proactivity to every interaction, turning conversations into concrete results. 
  • You are flexible and willing to travel internationally when needed.
