About the role
Chemours is seeking an EMEA Advocacy Manager to represent its Advanced Performance Materials (APM) business in the European regulatory and policy arena. This is a highly impactful, senior individual contributor role at the intersection of science, regulation, and business strategy.
You will take ownership of Chemours’ advocacy efforts related to fluorinated chemistries and advanced materials - areas central to clean energy technologies, semiconductor manufacturing, hydrogen production, and next‑generation electronics. Working with EU institutions, national regulators, trade associations, and partners across the value chain, you will help ensure Chemours can continue to innovate and operate responsibly in a rapidly evolving regulatory landscape.
The role is ideally based in Brussels, but both Belgium as well as the Netherlands are both suitable homes for the position.
Your Impact
In this role, you will be both a strategic advisor and a hands‑on advocate, shaping policy conversations and guiding the business on regulatory trends. You’ll work closely with cross‑functional leaders - R&D, regulatory affairs, sustainability, government affairs, commercial teams - to translate complex legislation into clear business implications.
You will thrive here if you enjoy navigating complexity, influencing diverse stakeholders, and playing a visible role in shaping the future of sustainable advanced materials in Europe.
What you will do
A balanced mix of strategic and operational influence, including:
Advocacy & Representation
Lead Chemours’ advocacy strategy for APM in Europe, ensuring a strong and credible presence in EU policy discussions.
Represent Chemours in key EU‑level and national trade associations, often in leadership or consensus‑building roles.
Influence regulatory frameworks affecting fluorinated chemistries, new chemicals, and advanced material applications.
Regulatory Intelligence & Strategy
Monitor EU and member‑state regulatory developments, environmental treaties, and societal trends with potential impact on APM.
Provide senior leadership with timely analysis, risks, opportunities, and strategic recommendations.
Drive alignment across regulatory, commercial, and technical teams on Chemours’ policy positions.
Stakeholder Engagement
Build strong networks with regulators, policymakers, NGOs, scientific organizations, and industrial partners.
Develop tools and processes for stakeholder mapping, engagement management, and strategic relationship tracking.
Communication & Positioning
Prepare and deliver Chemours’ viewpoints through position papers, presentations, and technical briefings.
Serve as a trusted internal advisor for regulatory questions and advocacy‑related decisions.
What you bring
You are a persuasive communicator and analytical thinker who knows how to shape conversations in complex regulatory environments.
Your profile includes:
Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Life Sciences, Materials Science, Chemistry, or related field.
7+ years of experience in regulatory affairs, public policy, advocacy, or related fields.
Familiarity with organofluoride chemistries, applications, and related environmental or industrial regulations.
Strong understanding of EU chemical legislation such as REACH, as well as international treaties like the Stockholm Convention.
Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders internally and externally.
Experience working with trade associations or driving multi‑company consensus.
Excellent project management, communication, and English language skills; additional EU languages are a plus.
A collaborative, culturally aware mindset and willingness to engage across borders and time zones.
Not sure you meet every requirement?
Research shows that some candidates hesitate to apply unless they meet all listed qualifications.
At Chemours, we are committed to building a diverse, inclusive, and authentic workplace. If you're excited about this role but your experience doesn’t perfectly match every point, we still encourage you to apply - you may be exactly the right candidate for this or another opportunity.
What’s in it for you
This is a rare opportunity to:
Shape the regulatory future of advanced materials in Europe.
Influence decision‑making at the highest levels of a global, science‑driven organization.
Work in a field where chemistry, policy, and sustainability intersect to enable next‑generation clean technologies.
Join a company that invests in innovation, responsible manufacturing, and long‑term value creation.
You’ll be part of a strong global network and have a visible impact on how Chemours navigates critical regulatory topics across Europe.
