BI Expert (Jasper)

We currently have a vacancy for a BI Expert (Jasper) fluent in English, to offer his/her services as an expert will be based in Brussels, Belgium. The work will be carried out either in the company’s premises or on site at customer premises. In the context of the first assignment, the successful candidate will be integrated in the team of the company that will closely cooperate with a major client’s IT team on site.

Your Tasks:

• Design and Development of Jasper Reports: Create custom reports using JasperSoft Studio, incorporating data from various data sources and ensuring they are visually effective and meet the specified business requirements;
• Design and Development of Qlik Dashboards: Use Qlik Sense to create interactive dashboards that provide meaningful visualizations and insights for business users by developing appropriate data models and integrating various data sources to ensure the relevant data is efficiently and accurately presented;
• Optimization and Performance Tuning: Optimize the performance of reports and dashboards, ensuring they generate quickly and efficiently, even with large datasets;
• Formatting and Styling: Apply styling practices to ensure reports and dashboards are visually consistent with organizational brand guidelines and present data in an easily understandable manner;
• Development of both front-end and back-end applications, leveraging Angular for the frontend and Java for the back-end, to support Jasper reporting and Qlik dashboard functionalities;
• Creation of servers and databases for functionality;
• Design and implementation of data storage solutions;
• Understanding and implementation of security and data protection;
• Design and develop APIs;
• Participating in the design and creation of scalable software;
• Writing clean, functional code;
• Compile and analyse data, processes, and codes to troubleshoot problems and identify areas for improvement;
• Testing and fixing bugs or other coding issues.

• University degree in IT or relevant discipline, combined with minimum 17 years of relevant working experience in IT;
• Minimum 10 years of expertise in SQL/PLSQL;
• Minimum 10 years of experience in J2EE, Java;
• Minimum 10 years of experience in API/REST/SOAP;
• Minimum 5 years of expertise in reporting tools like Jasper/Qlik;
• Experience in Front-end technologies (i.e. Angular, HTML5, CSS, XML, JavaScript, JQuery);
• Very good knowledge of WEBLOGIC;
• Good knowledge of Subversion/Git;
• Good knowledge of Agile methodology;
• Good knowledge of relational database systems (e.g. Oracle) and development tools (e.g. Oracle SQL Developer);
• Ability to analyse, design, develop and test efficiently and fast;
• Knowledge of EC ICT systems and infrastructure would be a key asset;
• Excellent command of the English language.
