Senior Accountant (FR/NL/EN) – Join Our Finance Team!

Role summary

As our Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in managing day‑to‑day accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and steering month‑end closings. You’ll act as a trusted partner for internal teams, auditors, and external stakeholders while ensuring full compliance with Belgian GAAP and tax regulations.

Accounting & Reporting

• Oversee and manage all general ledger activities (BE GAAP)
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes
• Deliver accurate financial statements and perform balance sheet reconciliations
• Prepare statutory accounts and annual reports
• Support group reporting (IFRS knowledge is a strong plus)

Tax & Compliance

• Prepare and review VAT returns, Intrastat, and Belgian tax filings
• Support corporate income tax calculations and declarations
• Ensure full compliance with Belgian accounting and legal requirements
• Act as the main point of contact for auditors, tax advisors, and authorities

Operations & Process Improvements

• Supervise AP, AR, and fixed assets accounting
• Streamline, document, and enhance accounting processes and controls
• Contribute to ERP and accounting system improvements

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Work closely with controlling, finance, HR, and business teams
• Present financial information clearly—even to non-finance colleagues
• Participate in cross-functional and international projects

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics
• 8–12 years of professional experience in Belgium
• Experience in an international or multilingual setting is an advantage

Technical Skills

• Strong command of Belgian GAAP and VAT rules
• Solid understanding of Belgian corporate taxation
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, Odoo, etc.)
• Advanced Excel skills

Languages (mandatory)

• French: fluent (Must)
• Dutch: fluent (Must)
• English: professional proficiency

• Accurate, structured, and detail-minded
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
• Autonomous, proactive, and dependable
• Excellent communication skills in a multilingual context
