As Data and Analytics Manager, you will be instrumental in transforming how data is managed, accessed, and leveraged—directly influencing operational efficiency, compliance, and the delivery of essential services. Your work will ensure that data flows seamlessly, securely, and insightfully, enabling smarter decisions and better outcomes for thousands.


What You’ll Be Doing



  • Lead the development, management, and optimization of databases and ICT applications in collaboration with internal and external partners.

  • Translate user requirements into technical specifications for database design and enhancements.

  • Coordinate with external developers to oversee the programming and evolution of shared databases.

  • Test, analyze, and refine database solutions, ensuring they meet user needs and organizational standards.

  • Organize and facilitate project meetings, ensuring alignment and clear communication between stakeholders.

  • Drive the implementation of new database systems, including training key users and preparing documentation.

  • Investigate and resolve operational or data-related issues, proposing innovative IT solutions to optimize workflows.

  • Analyze and respond to user requests, developing or modifying databases and applications as needed.

  • Support users in maintaining and enhancing individual databases, including report generation and data visualization.

  • Manage user access, data structures, and security protocols for shared databases, ensuring GDPR compliance.

  • Configure, back up, and secure database environments to guarantee data integrity and availability.

  • Develop and deliver clear, actionable reports using BI tools, validating data accuracy and consistency across sources.

  • Participate in working groups and cross-functional meetings to drive continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.

Technical Skills



  • Expert-level proficiency in JSON, XML, MS SQL Server, Power BI, and Power Query.

  • Strong command of standard and business-specific software for database and BI development.

  • Demonstrated ability to design, program, and manage user-friendly, accurate databases integrating data from multiple sources.

  • Experience with data security, GDPR compliance, and backup strategies.

  • Ability to analyze, validate, and visualize data for actionable insights.


Language Proficiency



  • Professional proficiency in English is required.

  • Knowledge of French or Dutch is a strong asset, given the client’s operational context.


Other Requirements



  • This is a freelance position with a 14-month project duration, based in Brussels with a hybrid work model (3/5 days onsite).

  • Ability to work independently while adhering to internal procedures and GDPR guidelines.

  • Strong communication skills for daily interaction with users, ICT colleagues, and external partners.

  • Experience participating in cross-functional working groups is a plus.
