Data Governance Expert

We currently have a vacancy for a Data Governance Expert fluent in English, to offer his/her services as an expert who will be based in Brussels, Belgium. The work will be carried out either in the companys premises or on site at customer premises. In the context of the first assignment, the successful candidate will be integrated in the Development team of the company that will closely cooperate with a major clients IT team on site.

Your tasks:

• Design of Data Quality and Health Monitoring processes;
• Assistance with deployment and configuration of the system;
• Elaborate on Data governance topics, considering:

1. Data quality: implement processes to ensure data accuracy, consistency and reliability across all data sources. Establish data quality metrics and monitoring systems to continuously assess and improve data integrity;

2. Data lineage: set up a data lineage system to track the data flow from source to target;

3. Data observability: implement tools and techniques to monitor data pipelines in real time;

4. Data catalogue / metadata management: establish and manage a comprehensive data catalogue to provide a centralized repository of metadata;

5. GDPR, Data authorization / access and Data Security;

6. Data logging: establish data logging standards and practices to ensure comprehensive logging of data usage and changes;

7. Develop and disseminate best practices for data management and governance within the organization;

• Act on AI governance, with a special concern on: AI ethics and AI Act compliance
• Active involvement in the Data & AI Risk management.

Requirements

• University degree in IT or relevant discipline, combined with minimum 17 years of relevant working experience in IT;
• Excellent experience in data governance, data management or related;
• Proficiency in data governance tools, data quality tools, data lineage tools and metadata management solutions;
• Experience in data quality, data control and monitoring techniques;
• Good knowledge of online analytical data processing (OLAP) and data mining tools;
• Good knowledge of ETL and modelling tools;
• Knowledge of GDPR, data protection laws, and AI regulations such as the AI Act;
• Knowledge of data warehouse design & architecture;
• Knowledge of SQL, NoSQL;
• Familiarity with data security standards and technologies;
• Excellent command of the English language.
