Database Administrator Expert

Our client in the utilities sector is looking for an experienced Database Administrator to support and evolve its enterprise data platform.

The role focuses on managing and optimising database systems within a complex and business -critical IT environment, including both relational and NoSQL technologies.

Requirements

· Manage and maintain database environments (Oracle, Cassandra)

· Perform database tuning and performance optimisation

· Execute upgrades, patching, and operational maintenance

· Support production and non -production environments

· Automate processes using scripting (Python, Shell)

· Contribute to database design and implementation

· Collaborate with technical teams across infrastructure and applications

· Ensure proper documentation and compliance

Required Skills & Expertise

Must Have

· Extensive experience with relational databases

· Strong experience with Oracle database administration

· Experience with Cassandra environments

· Strong Linux experience

· Experience in database tuning and optimisation

· Scripting experience (Python and/or Shell)

· Dutch fluency (C2 level)

Should Have / Nice to Have

· Experience with high -availability environments

· Knowledge of security standards (e.g., ISO27001)

· Experience with release and change processes

· Exposure to utilities or infrastructure environments
