About the Role

Our client is on a mission to transform and professionalize data exchange across their organization and beyond. As an Enterprise Architect, you will be at the heart of a strategic initiative to design and implement a centralized data layer, enabling seamless integration, reporting, and collaboration across multiple programs and external partners. This is a freelance opportunity for 12 months, based in Brussels, where your expertise will directly shape the future of digital migration and data architecture.

Why This Role Matters

This mission is pivotal: you will drive the creation of a unified architecture that empowers our client to optimize data flows, enhance reporting capabilities, and support the eMigration program—a cornerstone for digital transformation across multiple government entities. Your work will enable smarter, faster, and more secure data-driven decisions, impacting both internal operations and external collaborations at scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the inventory and analysis of all applications developed with Microsoft technologies (SharePoint, Active Directory, Power BI, PowerApps, Power Automate) and other integrated systems (such as Match-IT, CAAMI, Cumul).


• Map and document all internal and external data flows, including connections with Social Security Crossroads, Civil Register, and other partners.


• Design and propose a centralized data layer to streamline data exchange and reporting, leveraging existing architectural components (Azure Data Warehouse, Power BI).


• Establish and maintain a business architecture that bridges the application and data layers with business needs at both tactical and strategic levels.


• Analyze the current (AS IS) and future (TO BE) application landscape, identifying opportunities for optimization and synergy.


• Collaborate closely with the eMigration program architect, software architects, and the Head of Data and Analysis Service to ensure alignment and integration.


• Review and enhance existing documentation, developing an actionable plan to bring all materials up to standard.


• Identify and map synergies and gaps within the architecture, proposing optimizations in line with the eMigration program’s objectives.

Technical Skills & Experience

• Expertise in Enterprise Architecture and Business Architecture, with a proven track record in large-scale transformation projects.


• Deep knowledge of Microsoft technologies: SharePoint, Active Directory, Power BI, PowerApps, Power Automate.


• Experience with data warehousing solutions, particularly Azure Data Warehouse.


• Strong background in mapping and optimizing data flows between diverse applications and external systems.


• Ability to analyze, document, and propose both AS IS and TO BE architectures.


• Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and external partners in complex environments.

Language Proficiency

• Professional proficiency in English is required.


• Knowledge of French and/or Dutch is a strong advantage.

Other Requirements

• Availability for a 12-month freelance mission, with partial remote work possible.


• Experience working within public sector or large-scale migration programs is a plus.


• Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
