How does the working life of a F-35 Junior Database Administrator looks like at ILIAS?

You will be executing policies, practices and  procedures that properly manages the full data lifecycle needs of ALIS/ODIN. You will mainly be in charge with ensuring data currency, availability to users, and the protection of that data from loss. Tasks include but are not limited to: applying approved data updates, data protection (backups), availability, distribution, migration, warehousing, management, replication, redundancy, and security.How does the working life of a F-35 Junior Database Administrator looks like at ILIAS?

You will be executing policies, practices and  procedures that properly manages the full data lifecycle needs of ALIS/ODIN. You will mainly be in charge with ensuring data currency, availability to users, and the protection of that data from loss. Tasks include but are not limited to: applying approved data updates, data protection (backups), availability, distribution, migration, warehousing, management, replication, redundancy, and security.

Data Management:

• Maintain, store, and manage data including: Air Vehicle (AV) and ALIS/ODIN configuration, F-35 Fleet Management, Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), reliability and maintainability (R&M), and Supply Chain Management (SCM) data. 
• Maintain Commercial-off-the-Shelf (COTS), Government Off-The-Shelf (GOTS) and Custom Applications providing data interchange. 
• Manage classified and sensitive data elements in accordance with program security policy. 
• Support troubleshooting of data problems and reconcile data anomalies. 
• Execute processes and procedures for Data Management (DM) library. 
• Support DM controls for the ALIS/ODIN program. 
• Identify and mitigate DM Risk level.

Backup, Restore and Disaster recovery:

• Run application for System settings and Registry backups. 
• Coordinate with the System Administrator (SA) to schedule local drive imaging to run on periodic intervals. 
• Perform backup to backup any live data directories on regular intervals. 
• Monitor and verify scheduled database backups of Oracle and MS SQL and ensure data is stored on media/hard drive on a regular basis such that data is fully recoverable in the event of data loss or corruption. 
• Perform appropriate procedures to perform recovery of ALIS/ODIN system.

Database/Application Support:

• Install Joint-Service Technical Data (JTD) on the appropriate ALIS/ODIN units at the site (task shared with System Administrators (SA)).
• Perform “as required” manual updates to any database on the ALIS/ODIN unit.
• Configure ALIS/ODIN applications, including but not limited to Supply Chain Management and CMMS, with 
• the appropriate Commercial And Government Entity (CAGE) codes and part numbers. 
• Create user accounts as required.
• Utilize CMMS utilities to evaluate, scope, and correct errors, perform data import and review data post import to make sure data updates were successfully implemented
• Support ALIS/ODIN software release activities

You have 1+ years of relevant experience
You speak both English and French and you are able to write in these 2 languages

• Oracle Administration in a RHEL and MS Windows Environment

Operating Systems (OSs) 
Scripting Languages (shell, batch, Practical Extraction and Report Language (PERL)
