Acting as a trusted advisor to scientific teams, you will support decision-making through financial insight, performance analysis, and proactive budget management. You will ensure financial integrity, drive efficiency, and contribute to the company’s development by aligning financial strategies with operational goals.
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Finance:
Support the R&D team in managing and optimizing the budget.
Monitor actuals and variances versus budget/forecast in close communication with budget owners.
Manage of rolling forecasts, annual budgets, and multi-year plans.
Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities, including monitoring and renegotiating supplier agreements.
Establish and improve standardized, automated reporting processes and tools.
Manage consolidation.
Accounting:
Oversee monthly closings in collaboration with the accounting firm.
Support the purchase order creation and invoice payment processes.
HR:
Provide support for HR-related processes as needed.
Other:
Lead or contribute to various ad-hoc projects.
Drive digital transformation initiatives across the company.
Contribute to the development of current tools across the company.
Opportunity to familiarize yourself with the drug discovery and development process.
As our Finance Business Partner, you are reporting to the CFO.
This role requires strong financial acumen and a solid background in budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis. The ideal candidate will bring complementary expertise to enhance the company’s financial planning and decision-making processes. By integrating their insights with operational and strategic priorities, the Finance Business Partner will help drive efficiency, automation, and strengthen the organization’s financial foundation.
Master’s degree in a Finance, Accounting, Economics, or equivalent
Minimum 5 years of experience in controlling, audit or equivalent
Experience in the biotech/pharma industry is a strong plus
Analytical mindset with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively
Flexible and rigorous, with the ability to adapt to a dynamic and evolving environment
Proactive and autonomous, with a strong can-do attitude and eagerness to learn
Tech-savvy and data-driven mindset, with a passion for using digital tools to enhance financial insight and operational efficiency
Strong project management, analytical, and synthesis skills
Excellent team spirit, communication, and collaboration abilities
Resilient under pressure and open to change
Fluent in English
Our offices are located at the Bio-Incubator in Leuven. You are entitled to live and work in Belgium.
