This company is known for delivering complex, large-scale infrastructure projects and invests heavily in in-house engineering expertise. Their Engineering & Methods department supports innovation and efficiency across all project phases, integrating advanced tools like BIM, GIS, FME, and drone data processing.
As a GIS Specialist, you will support infrastructure projects by managing, analysing, and visualising spatial data to improve decision-making and execution across sites. You’ll work closely with engineers, designers, planners, and site managers, acting as a bridge between spatial technology and construction operations.
Your Tasks
- Develop and manage GIS maps, data sets, and web apps for active and future construction projects.
- Support project teams with geospatial insights: topography, zoning, land use, and utilities.
- Automate spatial analysis and processing using Python or FME.
- Integrate GIS data with BIM models and support internal teams with data coordination.
- Collaborate with teams in Belgium and the Netherlands; occasional project travel required.
- Contribute to GIS innovation, training, and standards within the organisation.
Your Qualities
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Geoinformatics, Geomatics, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience as a GIS Specialist, preferably in construction or engineering.
- Strong proficiency in ArcGIS Pro, Python, FME, and ArcGIS Online/Enterprise.
- Experience with enterprise geodatabases; familiarity with BIM data is a plus.
- Drone data experience and knowledge of Relatics are a plus.
- Fluent in Dutch and English; French is an asset.
- Proactive, analytical, and collaborative mindset.
