Job Description - Hebrew Literature Teacher

The International School of Brussels (ISB) is a dynamic, inclusive learning organization committed to

Introduction to the position
Reporting directly to the Director of Advancement and indirectly to the School Director, the
Development and Community Engagement Manager is responsible for the delivery of a
comprehensive development program at ISB, including major and restricted giving, the ISB Annual
Fund, constituent engagement, alumni relations, and development services.

Key accountabilities

The Development and Community Engagement Manager is accountable for the following:

Fundraising:
In collaboration with the ISB Director & Director of Advancement, and with the active support of
ISBs Learning Leadership Team and Board of Trustees, lead the design and regular evaluation
of the strategic plan for development at ISB.
Serve as the first point of contact for ISB for donors and potential donors.
Proactively develop, monitor, and coordinate development activities for a portfolio of top ISB
donors and potential donors.
Work directly with School Leadership, Trustees, development staff and key stakeholders of ISB
to create and execute plans for donors and potential donors around 1) leadership gift cultivation,
solicitation, and stewardship in support of specific key priorities of the school, and 2) cultivation,
solicitation and stewardship in support of the ISB Annual Fund.
Oversee the design and implementation of the ISB Annual Fund, alumni relations, parent and
constituent engagement, and development services programs, in alignment with the strategic
plan for development at ISB.

Oversee the development program budget and collaborate with the Director of Advancement on
development program budget planning.
Routinely collect data and track trends, reporting to the ISB Director & Director of Advancement
on agreed targets.
Research and report on good practice in development and plan for personal development of self
and team.
Ensure that the office, communication materials and technology systems are up-to-date and
effectively support the work of the development team.

Alumni Relations and Community Engagement:
Develop and implement an engagement strategy to build and grow ISBs alumni community.
Strengthen engagement with ISBs parent community to foster greater philanthropic support
Develop and manage a calendar of engagement activities and events throughout the year
Develop and manage alumni and community communications (emails, website, social media)

Experience and Skills

The successful candidate will need:
Bachelors degree
3-5 years of fundraising experience, with preference given to independent school or higher
education development experience; or other relevant experience such as charity management,
sales, or volunteer management
Strong understanding of, and commitment to, the ISB mission and vision
Ability to represent the school to a range of stakeholders in support of the schools brand and
reputation
Exceptional communication skills
Ability to build long-term relationships

Experience and Skills

Ability to work independently and cooperatively within a team environment.
Ability to independently prioritize, coordinate and complete tasks and projects
Strong organizational skills with the ability to keep things arranged in orderly systems.
Capacity to acquire a wide range of information about the school while continually staying
informed of changes and developments.

Understanding of and supportive of the work of other team members
A systems thinker and problem solver
Ability to work independently and cooperatively within a team environment
