Role Overview
This includes managing core HR processes, maintaining accurate data, supporting employee relations matters, and contributing to a positive workplace culture.
A key part of the role also involves supporting industrial relations activities and fostering constructive, trust‑based relationships with trade unions and employee representatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for HR queries from employees and managers in Belgium.
- Manage the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, contracts, contractual changes, offboarding, and HR documentation.
- Ensure compliance with Belgian employment legislation, social security obligations, and EOS policies.
- Maintain accurate, confidential employee records and HRIS data.
- Support monthly payroll by preparing changes, collaborating with payroll providers, and validating outputs.
- Assist with employee relations matters by documenting cases, providing policy guidance, and escalating issues when required.
- Support industrial relations topics and contribute to positive, solution‑orientated collaboration with trade unions and employee representatives.
- Coordinate absence management processes, including sick leave, occupational health, and return‑to‑work procedures.
- Contribute to regional HR projects focused on process improvement, engagement, and operational consistency.
- Support recruitment processes by scheduling interviews, preparing offer documentation, and ensuring a smooth candidate experience.
- Produce HR reports and insights to support local and regional decision‑making.
Skills & Experience Required
- HR experience in Belgium, ideally in an HR Generalist, HR Officer, or HR Coordinator role.
- Strong knowledge of Belgian labour law, HR practices, and payroll processes.
- Experience working with industrial relations topics and collaborating with trade unions or employee representative bodies.
- Fluent in English and French.
- Excellent organisation skills and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Proactive, resourceful, and comfortable working independently while collaborating across regions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build credibility and trust.
- Experience in fast‑paced, international environments is an advantage.
