IT React Developer

As an IT React Developer, you will contribute to the development and continuous improvement of digital solutions for enterprise clients of one of Belgium’s largest business banks. Working within an Agile squad, you will take responsibility for designing, building, and maintaining high-quality applications with a strong focus on frontend development using React. You will collaborate closely with developers, business stakeholders, and other technical teams to deliver scalable, reliable, and user-friendly digital solutions while applying modern software engineering practices.

What will you do?

• Develop and maintain high-quality frontend applications using React and modern JavaScript technologies


• Translate business requirements into clean, efficient, and maintainable code


• Design, build, and improve reusable and high-performance application components


• Develop and integrate backend functionalities using Java and Spring Framework when required


• Collaborate with Agile squad members to deliver end-to-end digital solutions


• Work closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Architects, Testers, and Developers to deliver new features


• Integrate applications with external data sources and APIs


• Ensure application performance, scalability, responsiveness, and reliability


• Apply software craftsmanship principles, clean code practices, and SOLID principles


• Perform code reviews, refactoring, debugging, and continuous improvement activities


• Identify and resolve technical issues, bugs, and performance bottlenecks


• Apply Test Driven Development (TDD) principles and contribute to automated testing practices


• Use Git-based version control systems and follow modern development workflows


• Participate actively in Scrum ceremonies and Agile team activities


• Share technical knowledge and suggest improvements to development practices within the squad


• Challenge technical requirements and propose solutions based on expertise and best practices

What do you bring?

• Minimum 8 years of experience as a Software Developer, Frontend Developer, or React Developer


• Strong experience developing web applications using React


• Deep understanding of JavaScript fundamentals and frontend development concepts


• Proven experience with React testing frameworks, including Jest and React Testing Library


• Strong knowledge of Git and version control systems


• Experience applying clean code principles, design patterns, and SOLID principles


• Practical experience with Test Driven Development (TDD)


• Experience working in Agile environments, especially Scrum teams


• Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary development squads


• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to software quality


• Experience building scalable, reusable, and maintainable applications


• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders


• Experience with banking or financial services environments is considered an advantage

Preferred experience:

• Knowledge of Java and Spring Framework


• Experience with Maven and database technologies


• Experience working with APIs and cloud-based applications


• Knowledge of authentication processes and implementations


• Experience with enterprise digital platforms and customer-facing applications
