Legal Counsel

Mega is looking for a passionate Dutch speaking Legal Counsel, keen to help Mega develop its Legal & Regulatory department for our activities for our Group and take it to the top! 💥💡 Excellent communicator, rigorous, hands-on, passionate about the energy market? The Job
In this role, you will be part of our Legal & Regulatory team. You will act as a trusted advisor for our Sales, Marketing, Customer Experience, and Operations departments on legal and regulatory matters.

Together with the other legal advisors, your key responsibilities will include:

• Providing legal support to ensure Mega’s overall compliance with the broad legal and regulatory framework related to energy, consumer protection, and retail activities.

• Proactively identifying changes in the legal and regulatory framework applicable to the energy sector (energy transition, EU energy package, new codes of conduct, etc.).

• Assisting our operational departments with the implementation of regulatory compliance and driving continuous improvements.

• Drafting and reviewing contracts, assisting in contractual negotiations and litigation when necessary, and liaising directly with external lawyers.

• Managing relationships with various stakeholders (regulators, DSOs, industry federation Febeg, government agencies, law firms, consumer organizations, politicians, etc.) and actively participating in external meetings, with a specific focus on Flanders and Dutch-speaking federal /inter-regional dossiers.

• Identifying business opportunities within Mega’s various departments and supporting the company through proactive lobbying.
