As a mechanical developer, your main responsibilities are exploration, conceptualization, development and maintenance of our solutions.
You will be involved in all phases of the development process translating product ideas into products ready to be sold. You will contribute to ensure a high level of quality in the mechanical development and that tasks are accomplished within the project timeframe.
In addition, your key responsibilities will be:
- Define; you work together with your colleagues from development, marketing & user experience as well as with our customers to understand problems & market needs.
- Ideation & conceptualization; you know how to translate these into different tangible & testable concepts, able to be validated. You test, learn, adapt and iterate in an agile way towards final concept.
- Development; you make sure the selected concept is fully developed into a robust & manufacturable product. You can use common DFx tools to assess the manufacturability of your design. Your design is not only cost conscious, but also as sustainable as possible. You are an active member of a project team, working closely with quality, operations & supply chain.
- Environmental Effects; you are aware that time, temperature, humidity, UV and other environmental conditions have an influence on the product lifetime/reliability and you know how to anticipate these effects (test, analyze and simulate). You can select the right material (plastic/metal) based on these results.
- Plastic Injection Molding; you have a fair knowledge of injection molding and plastics in general.
- Sheet Metal Parts; you know how sheet metal parts are developed
- Supplier / partner relationship management; you can set technical specifications and acceptance criteria and know how to work with external partners.
