Medical Affairs Program Manager

Medical Affairs Strategy & Programme Management

• Contribute to the development and execution of the Medical Affairs strategy aligned with business objectives


• Develop, plan and execute Medical Affairs programmes and activities within the assigned therapeutic area


• Manage timelines, budgets, resources, contracts, governance and stakeholder engagement to ensure successful programme delivery


• Monitor programme performance and report on key milestones and deliverables


• Act as a key liaison for cross-functional stakeholders, including Marketing, Regulatory Affairs, Clinical Affairs, Biometrics and Market Access


• Organise and support advisory boards, expert panels, steering committees and other scientific forums

Medical & Scientific Leadership

• Serve as the medical and scientific expert for the assigned therapeutic area


• Build and maintain strategic relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), healthcare professionals, medical societies and healthcare institutions


• Identify evidence gaps and contribute to the assessment of Investigator-Initiated Trials (IITs)


• Support reimbursement and value dossiers with medical and scientific expertise


• Respond to medical and scientific enquiries related to products, therapies and disease areas

Scientific Communication & Publications

• Contribute to publication strategies aligned with business objectives


• Lead publication activities, including abstracts, manuscripts, congress presentations and scientific communications


• Analyse, interpret and communicate clinical and scientific evidence to internal and external stakeholders


• Maintain expertise through continuous evaluation of scientific literature and emerging data


• Support clinicians and investigators in developing scientific publications and presentations


• Contribute to education and training initiatives and maintain relevant scientific knowledge resources

KOL Engagement & Medical Education

• Build and maintain a strong network of KOLs and external stakeholders


• Lead or support medical education programmes, congress symposia, advisory boards and expert panels


• Collaborate with stakeholders to develop scientific agendas, identify faculty and ensure successful programme execution

Clinical Research & Evidence Generation

• Contribute to study design, protocol development, endpoint selection and scientific rationale


• Support study implementation, investigator engagement, study oversight and final reporting


• Review clinical trial, CEC and DMC reports and provide medical input


• Drive the analysis, presentation and dissemination of clinical study results

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Compliance

• Partner with Marketing to ensure scientific accuracy of promotional materials, product launches, tenders and educational activities


• Translate scientific evidence into impactful materials and presentations


• Collaborate with Regulatory Affairs, Clinical Evaluation, Quality and Engineering to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and quality standards


• Support regulatory submissions, clinical evaluations, risk management activities and other subject matter expert contributions


• Coordinate medical reporting requirements for regulatory authorities and other stakeholders

General

• Represent Terumo professionally within the scientific and healthcare community


• Collaborate effectively across commercial, operational and support functions


• Undertake additional responsibilities and projects in line with evolving business needs

Education

• Master's degree in Life Sciences (MD, Biomedical Sciences, Pharmacy or equivalent through experience)
• Strong knowledge of applicable medical device and/or pharmaceutical regulations

Experience

• Minimum 5 years of Medical Affairs experience within the pharmaceutical or medical device industry
• Strong scientific acumen with the ability to interpret and communicate complex clinical data
• Experience in clinical research, evidence generation, and scientific publications
• Proven project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Understanding of clinical trial design and biostatistics
• Experience working in an international, cross-functional environment
• Willingness to travel as required
