As a PLC Technician - Measurement and Control Systems, you’ll join a select group of builders trusted to deliver technical excellence for our client in the heart of Belgium’s high-impact sector. What You’ll Be Doing
Plan, execute, and monitor complex technical and maintenance tasks to ensure the seamless operation of installations, always prioritizing safety and efficiency.
Lead and execute sub-projects within your expertise, managing major maintenance activities and keeping all maintenance data current and actionable.
Identify, analyze, and resolve technical faults and process disruptions, using your diagnostic skills to prevent downtime and optimize performance.
Interpret and document faults or alarms, analyze root causes, and implement or propose robust solutions.
Maintain accurate technical and administrative records, including management system updates, logbooks, dimensional sketches, P&IDs, electrical diagrams, and process controls.
Contribute to risk assessments by providing technical input and documentation.
Deliver technical instructions and hands-on guidance to internal and external teams, maximizing operational efficiency and knowledge transfer.
Provide training to colleagues on installation changes, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
Design and implement control systems and modifications, selecting optimal materials and components for each project.
Participate in project teams, contributing to functional analysis, design, and commissioning using specialized programming and design software.
Program interfaces to integrate process installations with the company network, ensuring site-wide operational integrity.
Set up, manage, and optimize the automation network, ensuring robust connectivity and system reliability.

Technical Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s or graduate degree in a technical field, or equivalent through demonstrable experience.
Several years of relevant experience in a similar (medior) role.
Advanced expertise in PLC (Siemens) programming, automation, and network management.
Strong knowledge of SCADA systems and measurement/control technology.
Proven experience in maintenance, troubleshooting, and technical documentation.
Intermediate skills in training, guidance, and project management.
Proficiency in technical design, programming, and the creation of process documentation (P&IDs, electrical diagrams, etc.).
Experience working in highly regulated, safety-critical environments.
Fluent in English; knowledge of Dutch or French is a plus.
Available to work on-site in Antwerpen, Belgium (no remote option).
Flexible to work in day shifts and adapt to operational priorities.
Other Requirements
Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
Ability to provide technical training and operational instructions to both internal and external stakeholders.
Experience with risk assessment processes and safety documentation.
Familiarity with project-based work and participation in cross-functional project teams.
Language Proficiency
Fluency in English is required.
Knowledge of Dutch or French is considered an asset.

This is a freelance position with a long-term assignment, based on-site in Antwerpen, Belgium.
