The role

As a project engineer you are responsible for the development of new products, conforming to the current procedures and taking into account requirements such as product performance, costs related to the product as well as the project and also the project timing. Additionally, maintaining existing productdesigns and suggesting ideas for improving their quality. This specific role is a part of the Emerging Products team where we develop innovative standard products for specific applications and alternative gasses based on existing blower and compressor systems. In the team you will cooperate with the project leader, project engineers and designers. You will also collaborate with test engineers and mechanics in the prototype test lab. Furthermore, you will interact with design review, purchasing, production and service. With this assignment, you will bring innovative ideas in order to deliver a high-quality design. Your main responsibilities are:

• For preparation and design:
  
  (concept-) design, calculations and simulations, sizing and specification of components (E.g. gears, bearings, seals, …), set up instructions and technical specifications applying standards and legislations (e.g. ISO, CE, PED, ASME, ...), interact with colleagues of the other product teams within the department, delegate repetitive and standard designs to our internal design studio (Gecia)


• Support during and after testing:
  
  following up prototype assembly and testing, offering support when technical problems arise in final test production or with the customers


• Knowledge sharing:
  
  preparation of instructions and technical specifications, coordinating with suppliers and colleagues from production and service, monitoring that technical information is kept up-to-date such as (final release) drawings, bill-of-material, purchase specifications and technical agreements


• Project management:
  
  evaluating costs, assembly, logistics and maintenance, keeping an eye on timing, the cost and budget of the project during development and taking action when certain goals are in danger of not being met

What do we expect of you?

• We are looking for someone with a broad technical interest, who has an innovative mindset and can combine technical knowledge with commercial realism. Someone who likes to work within a dynamic team and is looking forward to seeing the project develop from an idea all the way to serial production.


• Master degree: mechanics or electromechanics or equivalent by experience


• Good knowledge of English


• Experience in a product development environment is a strong advantage


• Knowledge of certain software:
  
  
  
  • (concept-) design in 3D-CAD, finish design in 2D (Eg. AutoCAD, Inventor)
