About the Role

Our client is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead high-impact transition and transformation projects within Central Infrastructure and OT Network Management Systems. This freelance opportunity is designed for a builder who thrives in complex, multi-team environments and is ready to drive mission-critical change across the Belgian utility sector. Your leadership will directly shape the digital backbone of essential services, ensuring seamless transitions and robust operational outcomes.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Leading and delivering complex transition and transformation projects across Central Infrastructure and OT environments


• Coordinating cross-functional teams and aligning stakeholders to project goals and timelines


• Managing collaboration with third-party ICT service providers to ensure seamless integration and delivery


• Driving service transition and migration initiatives, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum value


• Applying industry-standard project management methodologies (e.g., Prince2, PMBok) to structure and execute projects


• Communicating project progress, risks, and outcomes clearly to technical and non-technical audiences


• Ensuring compliance with organizational processes, roles, and terminology within a distribution network operator context


• Championing a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement across all project phases

What We’re Looking For

• Senior-level experience (10+ years) in leading and managing ICT infrastructure and OT projects


• Proven track record in service transition and migration projects within a distribution network operator ICT environment


• Demonstrable experience collaborating with third-party ICT service providers


• Deep understanding of project management methodologies (Prince2, PMBok, or equivalent)


• Hands-on experience working across multiple teams and technical domains


• Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence and align diverse stakeholders


• Experience in Belgian utility companies within the last 3 years (preferred)


• Higher education (Master or Bachelor) in a technical or engineering field, or equivalent through experience


• Builder mindset: proactive, solutions-oriented, and driven by impact

Technical Skills & Requirements

• Extensive ICT infrastructure knowledge


• Expertise in OT (Operational Technology) project environments


• Comprehensive understanding of distribution network operator processes and terminology


• Experience with service transition, migration, and transformation projects


• Familiarity with project management frameworks (Prince2, PMBok, Agile/Scrum)

Language Proficiency

• Fluency in Dutch at European CEFR level C2 (required)

• Freelance position – 12-month contract, based in Melle, Belgium
