High Voltage Products is a business unit within Hitachi Energy. The business unit develop, manufacture and market high voltage products for HVAC and HVDC systems, such as surge arresters, breakers, instrument transformers, capacitors, cooling systems and cable accessories. This position is devoted to the management of the developing team in Belgium working on product and process development of film capacitors.

Your responsibilities:

You will lead the R&D team for film capacitors in the BE Technology Center, part of our Grid Components Technology Center (CH/BE/SE).

Support the project managers and R&D engineers in the development of the next generation capacitors.

Resource management and accountability of project regular reporting.

Functional manager responsibility to work with the global R&D team ensuring a knowledge sharing, timely and high-quality deliverables.

Promote and foster a close collaboration with our Power Grids Research organization and with academia.

Assure that ideas and models generated by the team are properly documented and registered.

You will make sure that the team is documenting results in the form of technical reports, presentations, IP etc.

Your background: 

You have degree in dielectrics, HV physics or electrotechnology, PhD or MSc combined with work-life experience.

Ideally 3 years working experience in the field of film capacitors, film metallization product or process.

Added advantage if you also have working experience of modelling and characterization of HV capacitors or other HV devices with solid insulation.

Sound analytical skills and experience with planning, conducting and analysis of experiments.

Ability to also work in other technical areas, as for example: materials, insulation systems, thermal management, multiphysics integration.

Experience in, or ability to develop, project management and technical leadership skills.

Engaging people management skills along with team worker.

Good communication skills oral and written.

Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
