Head of Patient Partnerships

Curewiki operates a patient-initiated clinical research discovery platform live across Europe. Our hospital footprint is expanding through technology partnerships anchored in EU interoperability initiatives, leading academic hospitals are committing to launch with us, and the patient organisation network that anchors patient trust keeps growing. What has been built relationship by relationship now needs to become an engine.

The Head of Patient Partnerships owns the partnership layer that makes Curewiki work at scale: the hospitals where research happens and the patient organisations that anchor patient trust. This is a player-coach role by design. You'll personally run the hospital partnership pipeline and the strategic partner governance, personally own the patient-engagement revenue lines (panels, surveys, advisory boards, and patient-input work), and directly manage the country-level Patient Engagement and Hospital Managers as markets activate.

Your responsibilities:

Hospital partnership strategy & pipeline

• Own the hospital partnership strategy across our European markets: which hospitals we prioritise, in what order, and why, based on transparent scoring criteria
• Build and manage the hospital partnership pipeline end to end, from first contact through agreement, implementation coordination, and go-live
• Navigate hospital decision structures: clinical research units, innovation offices, IT, legal, data protection, and executive sponsors
• Coordinate on implementation sequencing and timelines, so commercial expectations and technical reality stay aligned

Partnership governance & activation

• Design and run the governance rhythm for strategic partnerships: steering meetings, escalation paths, shared roadmaps, and clear ownership on both sides
• Turn signed partnerships into live, referenceable sites: onboarding, activation milestones, and the first proof points that feed the commercial story
• Work with the commercial team so hospital partnerships translate into sponsor-facing value

Patient organisation network leadership

• Own the patient organisation partnership strategy and the network's commercial readiness across markets
• Own the revenue lines where the patient relationship is the offer: panels, surveys, patient advisory boards, and patient-input work, from qualification through delivery, in coordination with Customer Success and the sales organisation
• Protect the neutrality and independence of the patient relationship in every partnership and commercial construct, including neutral allocation of any revenue-share
• Ensure the patient org network and the hospital network reinforce each other: shared geographies, shared conditions, shared proof points

Team & market building

• Directly manage and coach the country-level team as it grows
• Build the playbooks that make hospital partnership work repeatable across countries rather than artisanal per site, with AI leverage built into research, preparation, and follow-up
• Coordinate with the consortia and grants function on EU-funded programmes

• You've closed and activated institutional healthcare partnerships and can walk us through one from first contact to live: who decided, what nearly killed it, how you got it over the line
• You've carried a commercial number, or co-owned one, on services or engagement work sold into pharma or healthcare, and you're comfortable owning the patient-engagement revenue lines outright
• You've led a small team and installed a repeatable process in a scale-up or high-change environment without slowing it down
• You're comfortable operating in multi-party constructs involving technology partners, public funding, and clinical institutions
• You run AI-first: research, account preparation, and partnership operations are all leveraged, and you expect the same of your team
• Fluent professional English plus at least one of French, Spanish, German, or Dutch
• Disciplined pipeline management in HubSpot or equivalent

Nice to have

• Familiarity with clinical research operations, hospital research units, or EHR and health-data interoperability (FHIR, EHDS-related initiatives)
• Experience with EU-funded consortium programmes such as Horizon Europe
• Existing network in the European patient organisation and/or hospital landscape

• A player-coach mandate: you personally own the pipeline and the revenue lines that matter most, not just the strategy behind them
• Real momentum to build on: leading academic hospitals are already committing to launch, and the partnership relationships exist — your job is to turn them into an engine
