Material Science Engineer

Are you passionate about materials, compliance, and the Cell and Gene therapy industry? We’re looking for a proactive, hands-on colleague to join our team in Ghent! In this role, you’ll combine your technical and material knowledge with strong interpersonal skills to ensure our packaging and materials meet the highest standards and are ready for use in a regulated environment.

What can you expect?

• Project Leadership: You maintain a clear overview during change implementations and effortlessly connect with diverse stakeholders to keep projects on track.


• Validation Expertise: You ensure that all materials are properly validated for use in our manufacturing processes. Examples: introduction of new polymeric and raw materials into the CAR-T manufacturing process or support the implementation of local material control strategies.


• Effective Communication: Your technical know-how helps you set the right priorities and communicate them clearly across departments.


• Meaningful Impact : Your role directly influences our operations. You regularly engage with stakeholders from Quality, Operations, Procurement, and more to align efforts and drive progress toward shared goals.

Who are we looking for?

Must have:

• A master degree in a relevant field (e.g. Biotechnology, Chemistry, or similar).


• At least 3 years of experience in a related role, ideally within a manufacturing or regulated environment.


• Good understanding of CAR-T manufacturing processes and the materials commonly used within them.


• Fluent communication skills in English, with the ability to clearly align with different stakeholders.


• Familiarity with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).


• A data-driven mindset and proficiency in tools like Excel to support your daily work.

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of PowerBi


• Experience in project management
