Job Description - Policy and Advocacy Officer EU

  • Analyse and observe legislative procedures, monitor EU policy & relevant actors
  • Establish contacts in institutions of the EU and member states as well as in civil society that facilitate the adaption of the organisation’s advocacy goals
  • Coordinate and take part in already existing networks
  • Inform about relevant policy developments and identify new opportunities
  • Provide strategic guidance for Team Lead and C-Level on policy positions
  • Draft updates, briefing notes, position papers and talking points for meetings, speeches and workshops
  • Support in organisation of events, public relations and campaigns
  • Represent the organisation at conferences, events and in meetings
  • Assist with identification of funding opportunities on EU Level and contribute to applications that are strongly related to the position
  • Distribute policy positions to relevant actors
  • A master's degree (or a combination of a Bachelor’s degree and relevant experience) preferably in european law, economics or political sciences
  • Your place of residence is in Brussels (Belgium) or the surrounding area
  • You have at least 2 years of working experience in the world of EU politics
  • You speak and write English fluently; German language skills are required or the willingness to learn German
  • You have proven knowledge on EU decision-making processes
  • You already bring along relevant contacts in EU institutions and partner organisations
  • You have strong coordination skills and the ability to work remotely with high level of autonomy and selforganization
  • You are familiar with the use of various digital tools for organisation and communication and feel confident using the MS Office package
  • You are a politically minded person and want to take a stand against digital violence
  • You value our diverse society and have the will to develop yourself further, change your perspective and learn new things
