We are currently looking for a highly motivated Software Engineer (gn) Java to join one of our functional teams. The position is available on a full-time basis at our headquarters in Hasselt, Belgium.

Your Role

We are seeking a talented and experienced mid-level to senior software engineer (gn) to join our functional product development team with a passion for data analytics. You will collaborate closely with other engineers, product owners, architects, and designers to design & develop robust and scalable back-end systems into our industrial analytics product.

You will be part of a fun agile team to grow and build our platform
Work with the team and leverage your knowledge to inspire and grow others
Assist in evolving and maintaining technical ways of working and best practices
Work with the product owner and team architect to define and elaborate technical designs
Assist in evolving our platform architecture together with the team architect

Your Skills

To excel in this role, you should have:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
About 5 years proven experience building micro services platforms.
Solid experience using Java and Spring Boot.
Experience with timeseries and data analytics.
Applied knowledge of software engineering best practices (TDD, DDD, SOLID, etc.).
Eager to learn new skills & explore new technologies, and share knowledge within the team.
Passionate about software development, innovation, and creative thinking.
Team player both in attitude and in terms of achieving results.
Fluent in English, knowledge of Dutch is a plus.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environment with knowledge of Agile methodologies.
Solid understanding of relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL) and SQL.
Experience with API design principles (RESTful APIs).
Experience with version control systems, preferably Git.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Nice-to-have

Experience with other technologies in our product portfolio are an advantage, in particular:
- Kubernetes
- Angular
- Streaming & Event-driven stacks
