About the Role

Our client is seeking a Freelance SAS DI Developer to join their Data Management & Analytics team within the Digital Business Solutions (DBS) department. You’ll be at the heart of designing and implementing robust data solutions that empower business decision-making, performance management, and official reporting. This is a 12-month freelance opportunity based in Brussels, where your expertise will directly shape the data-driven future of a leading organization.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Designing technical solutions based on functional specifications and business analysis


• Developing and optimizing SAS Data Integration Studio routines and chaining scripts for data transfer from source systems to the DWH target environment


• Creating and maintaining ETL packages to ensure reliable and efficient data flows


• Conducting rigorous testing of ETL routines and performing integration tests to guarantee data integrity


• Collaborating closely with BI analysts to ensure ETL results meet technical and business requirements


• Producing comprehensive documentation in line with SDLC standards


• Developing and maintaining procedures to support ongoing data operations

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent


• Proven ability to present ideas clearly and in a structured manner during interviews


• Fluency in French or Dutch, with passive knowledge of the other language


• Medior-level experience as a Business Intelligence Developer or Data Engineer


• Senior-level expertise in Data Modeling and Data Warehousing (DWH)


• Medior-level experience with SAS Data Integration


• Demonstrated experience as a BI Developer/Data Engineer in at least two distinct business sectors, showcasing adaptability


• Experience in the Utilities sector (preferred)


• Experience with Python (preferred)


• Experience with SAS Enterprise Guide (EG) (preferred)


• Proven track record in the BI or Analytics domain
