Senior Consultant Insurance Transformation - Financial Services

The Opportunity

For our thriving insurance practice, we are looking for experts in the domain of life insurances that can take up the role as project manager, process engineer, business analyst, product owner or portfolio migration expert. Our team is dedicated to the insurance sector and supports our clients during their transformative projects, whereby we are involved in the end-to-end transformation.

Key Responsibilities

Within the Insurance Transformation competence team, you will collaborate with our clients to understand the challenges facing their business and help implement innovative solutions. You will also contribute to the development of the competence team and EY as a whole. As a transformation consultant in our insurance practice, and expert in life insurances, you will:

•    Support our clients during transformation projects, such as delivering portfolio migrations and IT platform renewal projects, both in retail life and Employee Benefits. During these projects, you will take care of the different phases of the project lifecycle.

•    Contribute to the development of new solutions for the life insurance industry, such as portfolio migration solutions, process automation solutions, etc. 

•    Share your knowledge and experience with EY colleagues.

•    Build a strong network within the life insurance sector.

Skills and Attributes for Success

To excel in this role, you should have:

•    Educational Background: Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., applied economics, commercial engineering, civil engineering, applied informatics) or equivalent experience.

•    Professional Experience: 3-7 years in consulting or within an insurance company or broker firm. 

•    Industry Knowledge: Good understanding of the Belgian life insurance market, distribution channels, products, systems and processes.

•    Digital Transformation Insight: Understanding of how digital transformations and key technology platforms impact the insurance industry.

•    Analytical & Conceptual Thinking: Excellent analytical skills, conceptual thinking, and a pragmatic approach.

•    Client Management Skills: Outstanding stakeholder management skills and ability to build relationships through solid communication and presentation skills.

•    Language Proficiency: Native Dutch or French speaker with excellent business English skills.

•    Team Spirit & Autonomy: Strong team spirit, balanced by a healthy sense of autonomy.
