Job Description

As a Big Data Engineer , you will build and share knowledge with your colleagues. With initiatives like our knowledge sharing sessions, you have various chances to bond and exchange ideas with colleagues, and keep up to date with the latest developments in the field.

You love working with data and are familiar with multiple data platforms and enjoy developing spark applications. You will work in a multidisciplinary team, including data scientists, data architects, analysts, ...

Qualifications

Requirements:

• A good knowledge on one or multiple programming languages: Scala, Python...
• A good knowledge on one or multiple technologies: Spark, Kafka, Nifi...
• Experience working on one or multiple Big Data platforms (Databricks, Azure, AWS, Google, Cloudera)
• Fluency in Dutch (one of these languages is mandatory) and English

Here is a non-exhaustive list of your daily missions; we trust you to take them in hand and enrich them in your own way:

Participate in AWS Cloud projects (EC2, S3, Lambda, Redshift , EMR, Kinesis, DynamoDB, etc.) or other solutions hosted on an AWS architecture (Snowflake, Databricks, etc.).

Develop and automate data ingestion pipelines with appropriate processing layers in relevant technologies (Python, Spark, Kafka).

Industrialize Data Science algorithms.

Design scalable and generic data schemas to meet reporting or other needs ( SQL ).

Develop custom applications based on existing generic components to meet client needs (scenario scripting, training monitoring of predictive models and AI, reporting, etc.).

Supervise and mentor junior consultants , i.e., peer code review, application of best practices.

Assist our sales team in writing proposals and pre-sales meetings.

Contribute to the development of our internal community.

Participate in the recruitment of our future talents.

As an AWS Data Platform Engineer you are a key member of the
data engineering teams in various AWS data oriented projects at customers. You are no stranger to DevOps and MLOps and enjoy collaborating with data and AI-specialists building solutions with a sound architectural design.

Are you passionate about data solutions and helping businesses make the right decision based on the right data? Do you have experience with MS SQL Server BI stack and have an interest in new Azure data technologies? We are currently looking for a Microsoft BI Expert that can define BI solutions and help our customers to better understand their data and transform them into actionable insights.

As a Microsoft BI expert, you will be a crucial part of our key projects by architecting & developing BI & data solutions. As well as modernizing existing on-premises BI solution into an Azure solution.

The young grad programme will start in September 2024 with a 3 days boot camp where you will learn the basics of Google Cloud . Part of the bootcamp will be held in a secret location which only the young grads and their mentors will know.

After the initial crash course, you will join one of the three tribes ( Machine Learning, Data Engineering or Infrastructure ) then you will rotate to one the next tribe. Within a year you will discover your true passions, your likes & dislikes and join permanently the Tribe where you had the best experience.

Later you will join our Data Engineering team and alongside your mentor you will discover the secrets of Google Cloud and how it enhances real world applications. Your mentors will guide you through the Google university and will coach till you become an expert & certified Google Cloud Data Engineering Hero. Day by day you will grow into a cloud ninja and you will be able to fix even the most complex problems.

As Lead Data Engineer, you will be at the heart of our customers data strategy. You’ll define how it should be structured and help them make decisions that are data-driven. Alongside Sven, our Head of Data & Analytics, you will sync with the customer and define what can be done with the data they have and how it can be used to tackle different business challenges. You will be constantly supported by one of our PM’s in order to deliver best in class solutions in the emerging cloud market. You will constantly be supported by the Data Tribe that is full of fellow engineers with a can-do mentality.
