The successful candidate will build out our strategy, identify priority interventions, and strengthen our network on industrial decarbonisation and industrial policy in Europe. The role will require a deep understanding of the climate transition in sectors including steel, cement and chemicals and a strong interest in the cross-cutting institutions and policies needed to deliver a climate-neutral European economy.

The role will require experience working with civil society, government and industry stakeholders, and a good understanding of EU politics and policy processes.

  • Build E3G’s profile on industry decarbonisation and industrial policy, developing propositions and leading advocacy to strengthen E3G’s network among key decision makers on industry in the EU.

  • Monitor key policy debates and developments in Europe and internationally related to industry decarbonisation and industrial policy and interpreting them in the context of E3G’s work.

  • Engage with and help to convene key stakeholder networks and supporting NGOs, businesses and investor groups, as well as managing relationships with these stakeholders.

  • Produce internal and external communication materials and undertake short pieces of wider analysis.

  • Inspire and facilitate action by the wider Clean Economy team on industrial policy, playing an active role in developing the team and supporting others.

  • Manage grant funding and support fundraising efforts.

  • Travel may be required, but we are open to discussing this if this would otherwise become a barrier to your application.

Person Description

You are intellectually curious and enthusiastic about working with others to develop solutions in the transition towards climate neutral and resilient economies. You are committed to high quality outputs even when under pressure and use collaboration to get to better outcomes. You are a creative thinker and able to learn fast. You are able to reflect on your own strengths and weaknesses and work in a team of diverse personalities.
