About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead a high-impact Proof of Value (PoV) initiative for an innovative internal vulnerability scanning solution with our client. This freelance assignment is based in Brussels for 12 months, offering you the opportunity to drive strategic transformation in cybersecurity and vulnerability management. Your leadership will directly influence the adoption of next-generation security solutions, shaping the future of digital resilience.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead and coordinate the Proof of Value (PoV) trajectory for an internal vulnerability scanning solution, benchmarking it against existing tools.


• Translate strategic objectives into a structured project approach, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.


• Monitor and steer project scope, timelines, budgets, and quality in a complex, multi-year environment.


• Direct and inspire a multidisciplinary team of 15+ professionals, including analysts, developers, and testers.


• Represent the organization in high-stakes negotiations and foster alignment among diverse stakeholders.


• Adapt and optimize ICT service delivery processes to ensure quality and sustainability.


• Plan, manage, and report on all phases of the PoV, collaborating closely with technical experts, stakeholders, and suppliers.


• Analyze and evaluate the functional, technical, and organizational value of the solution, delivering clear recommendations.


• Develop the business case for potential implementation and operational deployment based on PoV outcomes.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience as a Senior Project Manager in infrastructure or development projects with significant organizational impact.


• Expertise in advanced project management methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2 Practitioner, MSP, SAFe, or equivalent), preferably with certification.


• Demonstrated ability to manage scope, time, budget, and quality in high-complexity, dynamic environments.


• Strong background in ICT architecture and strategic alignment between business and technology.


• Exceptional stakeholder management skills at strategic and executive levels, including negotiation and organizational representation.


• Experience leading Proof of Value / Proof of Concept projects and developing subsequent business cases.


• Analytical mindset with a focus on outcomes, impact, and continuous improvement.


• Ownership mentality, proactive problem-solving, and a passion for building what’s next.

Technical Skills & Tools

• Project management techniques and tools (risk management, issue management, etc.)


• MS Project, MS Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel)


• ITIL knowledge and experience


• Familiarity with reporting and portfolio management tools (e.g., Jira or equivalent)


• Understanding of cybersecurity and vulnerability management concepts


• Experience with change management and digital transformation initiatives


• Knowledge of public sector ICT environments (experience with Flemish government or public organizations is a plus)

Language Proficiency

• Fluency in Dutch at European CEFR level C2 is mandatory.

Other Requirements

• Signed NDA document to be uploaded.


• Upload documented cases where you led PoV/PoC projects and developed business cases.


• Relevant certifications in project management methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2, PMBOK).
