Senior Web developer and UX designer

Your main task will be to design, publish and maintain webpages according to the standards of the European Commission in terms of visual identity, ergonomics, usability and accessibility.

Description of tasks

Web development:

•          Create new components, refactor and test dynamic user interfaces.

•          Test and debug for consistency and cross-browser compatibility and accessibility.

Web design:

•          Creating the layout of the website, illustrations, visuals, components, infographics, data visualisations and dashboards.

•          Unify styles and harmonise the interface across all cross-sites.

Feedback and analytics monitoring to improve content and user experience.

Manage online collaborative tools (Jira, Confluence, Service now).

Languages, knowledge and technical skills

• Experience in design systems and UI development.

• Knowledge of UI/UX design best practices.

• Experience with UI tools, such as Figma / Penpot

Strong command of the languages and software used to create websites, such as:

• Typescript, React.

• HTML, CSS, JavaScript

• Git (GitLab / Bitbucket)

• Visual Studio / Visual Studio code

• Proficient use of MS Office & MS 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive).

• Knowledge in Web Accessibility (WCAG) is a plus.

  • Good oral and written command of English is mandatory.

• Good knowledge of digital environment.

·       Skill level: 60% Web developer 40% Web Design.

·       Knowledge of/or experience in an ITIL environment.

·       Knowledge of EU Institutions is a plus

This position is hybrid in Brussels.
