Solar Engineer

As part of our renewables business, C&I Solutions specializes in helping commercial and industrial clients transition to sustainable energy through customized, scalable solutions. Our team works with businesses to implement comprehensive renewable energy systems - from solar installations and wind turbines to EV charging infrastructure - while ensuring minimal disruption to their operations and maximum return on investment.

To develop these new activities, we are hiring a Solar Engineer to support Virya Energy’s growth in Europe, with a particular focus on Belgium and Poland.

As a Solar Engineer within our C&I Solutions team, you will:

• Help identify and assess optimal locations for rooftop, ground-mounted, and carport PV installations, considering technical, environmental, and regulatory constraints

• Conduct feasibility studies, including preliminary system sizing, production forecasts, and grid connection assessments

• Design and dimension solar PV systems for both grid-injection and self-consumption projects, from early-stage proposals to detailed engineering for advanced developments

• Create single-line diagrams and system layouts that meet project and safety requirements

• Analyze energy consumption profiles to tailor self-consumption strategies.

• Evaluate site-specific constraints (rooftop and ground) and develop layout plans for PV systems on buildings

• Select suitable technical solutions, size inverters, and define the electrical system architecture in collaboration with our HV/MV engineering team

• Perform energy yield calculations and prepare related documentation to support decision-making

• Collaborate closely with business development teams and provide technical input during meetings with partners and stakeholders

• Contribute to the preparation of EPC tender packages and support contractor selection processes

• Engineering degree or relevant technical education in renewable energy

• At least 3 years of experience in a similar role within the solar energy sector

• Proficient in PVSyst and other energy yield simulation tools

• Skilled in design and drafting software such as AutoCAD and SketchUp

• Strong experience in studying and designing various types of solar projects: rooftop, carport, and ground-mounted systems

• Genuine interest in renewable energy and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset

• Fluent in French and English and knowledge of Dutch ( knowledge Polish is a strong asset)
